Three civilians have been wounded in a late evening explosion in Lashkargah, capital city of southern Helmand province.

A security official from the provincial police headquarters said that the explosive materials were placed on a motorcycle that exploded late yesterday evening.

The blast left a man and two children wounded who were then shifted to emergency hospital in Lashkargah city.

Soon after the explosion security forces arrived at the blast site on airport and cordoned off the road.

No suspect has been arrested in connection to the blast but an investigation was initiated by the police headquarters.
